Armchair, sofa, and footstool for Prostoria, 2011
The 3angle collection was conceived as a non-conventional take on the forms commonly used in traditional armchairs and sofas. This was our first collaboration with the major furniture brand Prostoria, and our goal was to build an ergonomic piece composed out of triangle-shaped surfaces.
The armrests form a fragmented line which is vaguely reminiscent of the resting arms of a seated human. These are fully integrated into the backrest, which in turn creates a geometric diamond-like shape. This results in an effective statement piece which at the same time provides ample ergonomic support for relaxed and informal use.
The rigid forms of the collection were made somewhat softer through the use of high-quality luxury padding and fabrics. The end result is a design that offers both a reliable and sturdy structure and a soft and cosy feel. And by doing so, 3angle becomes an inviting piece fit for any type of interior.
